I like to just watch them.

OK. So, I am going to admit something that I have always felt made me a "bad mom". But, I have come to the realization that all moms have "good" moments and all moms have "bad" moments. Not only that, but all moms are different. God designed us to be who we are, and to interact with our children in our own unique way. So, here goes. I enjoy just watching my kids. Often times, I'd rather watch them play, then play with them. It's hard to explain, but, for me, I feel totally fulfilled as a mom when I can sit back and take it all in. I love watching their facial expressions when they are concentrating, listening to their vocies when they're talking, hearing their giggles while they laugh, and watching their whole being as they tackle some sort of physical challenge like tree climbing, or a new sport. It's during those moments, when I can just watch them, that I know I am savoring each second and not letting life with them pass me by.

I finally understand that scripture.

Luke 19:40- But he (Jesus) said, "If they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them, shouting praise."

I never completely understood what Jesus meant until I saw these beautiful places with the most amazing rock formations I have ever seen. It was breathtaking, and I spent my time there in awe of God and his amazing creation.

Family Road Trip

This past March, we took a road trip with some friends to Utah. We decided to take advantage of the fact that we all had a week and a half off together. Korey will start working this summer, and we will not have opportunities like this very often anymore. So, we spent 5 days driving, hiking, and enjoying some beautiful scenery.

We went to Zion National Park.
We also went to Bryce Canyon.
We took some amazing hikes.
One went to a beautiful waterfall.
Another one was along a river. I decided that I want to build a home right here. (Unfortunately, that's not possible because it's in a National Park.) Our last hike went to the top of a very steep overlook. It was a great view, but we had a scare on the way up. (Asher almost fell down one of the drop-offs!!) We stayed in this gorgeous cabin. We also celebrated Asher's birthday. It was an awesome trip. I didn't realize how beautiful it would be. I'd definitley love to go back some day.

He's 5 now.

He makes me laugh and he completely frustrates me. He can melt my heart with just one smile, right after he has made me totally lose my patience. He is a total clown, yet he will stop right in the middle of playing to come give me a hug and tell me he loves me. He has a charisma all his own, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Everyone who knows him has a soft spot in their heart for him. They all say, "There's just something about Asher." I totally agree. Now, he's 5, and ready to start school in just a few months. It's hard to believe that my baby boy is growing up so fast. I love you, Asher.

We live in an amazing place.

Seriously...we do. During my March break, Eden and I had a day to ourselves. So, we drove 25 minutes and spent the day in Forest Falls. I'm not kidding, this beautiful place is only 25 minutes away from the crazy, crowded, smog-filled LA basin we call home. It was quiet and serene. I got to just sit back and admire these views. It was wonderful. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend the day.
