I love this man because....he has a special look just for me.

There is this look he gives me.  It's reserved only for me.  I catch him giving me the look at the most unexpected moments.  Recently, it happened in the kitchen.  And with that look, I know that he is still passionately in love with me, that I am the woman that catches his eye, that to him I am lovely, beautiful, and irresistible.  That look takes my breath away every time I see it. 

I love this man because....he catches himself.

So, I came into the room eating a slice of leftover cake. I sat down at the computer to eat it while my husband was watching TV. He looked at me and said, "Hey, where's my piece?" Without thinking, I said, "Oh sorry," and promptly got up to go get him some cake. He quickly stopped me and told me to sit down. He said, "I was totally joking, but you were so compliant, now I feel guilty." That had me giggling. He likes to tease, but he truly respects me, and will stop himself if he takes it too far. I love that about him.

Seriously, my man is gorgeous. Just look at him. He was extremely handsome when we got married, but somehow he manages to get even more good looking with each passing day.

I love this man because....he does her hair.

Korey is the one who usually does Josey's hair. Actually, he insists that it be done. If I get her ready, and I don't give her a ponytail or pigtails, he will sit her down and do her hair. It's so cute to watch him put rubber bands in her hair.

I love this man because....of how he is with her.

I can't even explain how much I love watching Korey with Josey. He is completely smitten with her. His love for her is so obvious; it is written all over his face whenever he looks at her. He is the father every girl wants her daddy to be. Watching him with her has made me fall in love with him all over again.

I love this man because....he is focused, determined, and hard-working.

I have never met another person who has a work ethic like my husband. He is amazing. Once he sets his mind to accomplishing something, he gives it 110%. I have watched, in awe, as he has taken this journey through college. He has taken it seriously and given it his all. Because of this, he is extremely successul. His graduation day in June will be wonderful, because he will be rewarded for all his hard work.

I love this man because....he is hilarious.

I am not exaggerating. He is not just funny. He is hilarious. He makes me laugh all the time. He knows just what to say or do to get me giggling. And if I'm in a grumpy mood, forget it. He will not stop his silliness until he gets me to crack a smile. Here are two perfect examples:

Korey is such a great dad. He is so hands-on. He cares for the kids, reads with them, checks homework, fixes owies, and....their favorite....rough-houses with them. The boys love it. They can't get enough of wrestling with their daddy.

I love this man because....he voluntarily does the dishes.

I don't ever have to ask, nag, or argue with him. If he sees that the dishes need to be done, he just does them. It's awesome. I think I sometimes take this for granted. I'm so used to it, I just think that every husband is like this. But, after hearing many women complain about how their husbands don't help out around the house, I know I am lucky. You know....he vacuums and mops too. Eat your heart out ladies, he's taken!!

OK, so I have this amazing husband who I love more than I can even explain. There are so many reasons why I love him, so I decided to start a little series. There's no way I could list all the reasons in one post, so I will I will post them as they come up in our day to day lives. I know this first one is a little boring, but it happened this week, and it hit me as something I love and appreciate about him. Trust me, there will be more mushy ones to come, but we'll start with this totally practical one. Our water heater died twice this week. That would probably cause most people to panic. Not me. I knew my man could fix it. He takes care of everything around here. He keeps things in working order. When my dishwasher died, he repaired it. When the plumbing backed up, he unplugged it. When our old water heater broke and was dumping water into our attic, he stopped the leak and installed a brand new one the next day. So, when the new water heater stopped working because rainwater leaked into it, I had total confidence that it would be fixed quickly, and it was. Thanks to him, I had a nice hot shower today. He is CRAZY talented, and totally humble about his gifts and abilities. I love you honey!
