The Most Generous Person I Know

This is my grandpa. He is absolutely amazing. He is a fun, loving man who loves God, his family, and his life. I want to be like him when I grow up. He is also incredibly giving. He is more generous than anyone else I have ever met. When he sees a need, he does what he can to help with that need. Because of his generosity, we were able to take several trips over the last few years to go and visit him, and the rest of our extended family in Louisiana. He also made it possible for Korey and the kids to go visit Korey's mom when she was ill this past summer. On his last visit out here in December, he decided that he wanted to do something nice for me because he feels like I do so much for my family. I was so touched by that. Since my dishwasher and washing machine have been close to falling apart for the last year, he decided to buy me new appliances. He gave us money, and we waited for a good deal. We finally found a great deal and were able to get both a dishwasher and a washing machine. I love them. They work so much better than my old appliances.

THANKS GRANDPA!! You're the best!

Our Crazy Week

Tuesday- The electricity went out when it was just me and the kids at home. I had to walk down the stairs holding Josey while I could see absolutely nothing. I lit a bunch of candles and tried to keep Asher calm.

Wednesday- The hot water heater stopped working. Korey came home from school at 8:00pm and worked on it for about 2 hours.

Thursday- Josey got sick at daycare, so I had to leave work early to pick her up. In order to leave early, I had to find someone to take my class, borrow my carpool partner's car, and make sure my carpool partner had another way to get home. When I got home, the hot water heater stopped working again.

Friday- This was the fourth day in a row that I was stuck inside my classroom all day with my 29 students because of the incessant rain. Fortunately, when I came home, I had hot water.

Now you know why my blog is called "organized chaos".

Neighbor Meal

Check out what was delivered to our dinner table tonight.Every Wednesday night we have "Neighbor Meal". There are 3 families on our block who participate. One of us cooks, then delivers dinner to the other 2 families. It is the BEST; especially when it is not my night to cook. Is was so nice tonight to be able to play a card game with my kids while someone else was busy making us a home-cooked meal. The really crazy thing, though, is that dinner time was still the crazy, chaotic ritual it usually is; even though I didn't have to cook. Seriously, all 3 kids were crying (the 2 boys both hurt themselves and Josey was just whiny) before we even sat down to eat! What's up with that?

Dirty Laundry

Oh yeah! I am so about to air our dirty laundry. Here you go.

This is the kids' laundry hamper. Good thing it's in the corner or else the pile would be all over the floor.

This is the pile of clean clothes behind our bedroom door that I haven't had time to put away. What's crazy is that every scrap of laundry was clean and put away on Sunday. There was nothing left in the hampers when I went to work on Monday morning. It's only Wednesday. How did this happen?
