My Mom Got Baptized

On May 2, my mom participated in the baptism ceremony at our church. It was a really nice moment to be a part of. It has been amazing to watch my mom's faith grow through the years.

Teacher of the Year

I work with a group of amazing people. The staff at my school has been together now for about 10 years. I like to joke that we are one big disfunctional family. There's disagreement, bickering, and complaining. But, we all have each other's backs, and when it's really important, we stick togther and we're there for one another. My colleagues are very seasoned, talented teachers. That's why I was extremely humbled and homored when they voted me as Live Oak's Teacher of the Year. The presentation of awards was at the board meeting on May 5. Korey skipped class so he could be there. It was a very nice evening. My principal also came to offer his encouragement and support. He was pretty hilarious actually. He was running around like a proud papa taking pictures!!

Eden's Award

On April 30, Eden received an award at school. This was his second one this year. His first award this year was for Math. This award was for Language Arts. Both Korey and I were able to go to the presentation. My wonderful colleagues took care of my students so I could attend. Here is what his teacher had to say:

"This student is a truly stellar student!! He always does his best in school and it really shows. he contributes to class discussions and loves to read. He has over 120 Reading Counts points and received the highest grade on our Theme 5 Skills Test. I am very proud to be his teacher. Way to go!"

Seriously, my man is gorgeous. Just look at him. He was extremely handsome when we got married, but somehow he manages to get even more good looking with each passing day.

Those eyes...that smile...I am one lucky woman.

Mother's Day 2010

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year. The kids all made me gifts and cards at school. Korey got me a new camera (for Mother's Day and Graduation). We went to church. Then, we spent several hours at the park. After the park, while the kids were napping, my mom and I went window shopping at Marshalls. The only bummber of the day was that Eden was recovering from the stomach flu (poor guy).
