Talking Smack

As Eden is getting older, he is starting to learn how to "talk smack" with the best of them!! He really likes when he can get a good zinger in about Korey or I. Recently, we were having a chat about the kids possible athletic inclinations. I was saying that Eden is built for the water, and will probably be an excellent swimmer. Asher is built for running, and will probably be great at track and field. Eden piped in and said, "Yeah, and dad is built for TV." Korey wasn't loving that comment!!

Can we sleep in the tent?

Whenever the kids are on a break from school, they LOVE to build tents. It's the one thing they do together without fighting (Mama loves that!!). Inevitably, their question is, "Can we sleep in the tent?" Usually, we say yes. Aren't they too cute in there?!

I love this man because....he catches himself.

So, I came into the room eating a slice of leftover cake. I sat down at the computer to eat it while my husband was watching TV. He looked at me and said, "Hey, where's my piece?" Without thinking, I said, "Oh sorry," and promptly got up to go get him some cake. He quickly stopped me and told me to sit down. He said, "I was totally joking, but you were so compliant, now I feel guilty." That had me giggling. He likes to tease, but he truly respects me, and will stop himself if he takes it too far. I love that about him.

Great Grandparents

My kids are so fortunate. They have 4 living great-grandparents: my dad's dad, Korey's dad's mom, and Korey's mom's mom and dad! What was really awesome was that they were able to visit with 3 of them this past Christmas. My grandpa spent over a week with us, and we spent a couple of days with Korey's grandparents while they were in town. One day, we actually had all 3 of them over at our house together. I'm still kicking myself for not getting a picture of that!!! Anyway, here are a few photos of the kiddos with their great grandparents.

29 Weeks

How Far Along: 29 Weeks
Size of Baby: 14 inches, 2 pounds
Total Weight Gain: Yep, Still Gaining
Maternity Clothes: I love my buddha t-shirt. It says, "Buddha says, for good luck, rub my belly." I've had it since I was pregnant with Asher. It's always my favorite one to wear when my belly is sticking out pretty far.
Gender: Still Unknown
Movement: I'm getting a lot of kicks at the top of my belly, so I'm sure the baby is already facing down.
Sleep: I'm still sleeping pretty good, thanks to my prego pillow, otherwise, I'd be miserable.
What I Miss: Jogging and My Normal Energy Level
Cravings: Still Carbs, Preferabley Sweets Like Cookies
Symptoms: I'm still feeling pretty good. I'm starting to get more fatigued, though.
Best Moment this Week: I read a whole book in one day!! We were in a cabin in the mountains (where this picture was taken). We did a lot of hanging out and relaxing. I managed to fit in some reading. It was awesome.

WOW!!

I saw this and it brought tears to my eyes. Talk about showing Jesus' love. A month before this, the Muslim community in Egypt was blamed for a suicide bomb that killed many Christians. Yet, here are the Egyptian Christians, a month later, protecting the Muslims as they pray during the protests. How many Muslims do you think walked away that day curious about the Christian faith? Actions definitely speak louder than words!

Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve at Aunt Pam and Uncle Bob's house with a ton of extended family.
Then, we spent a very low-key Christmas Day with my Grandpa and Mom around our house.
We finished the celebration with a FEAST of boiled shrimp and sausage (thanks to my brother) on the day after Christmas (for my dad's B-Day).
