He's All Boy

We recently spent a Saturday working in our backyard. Korey dug up a tree, so there was a pretty big hole. Eventually, the boys filled it with water and turned it into a mud pit. Eden wasn't thrilled about the idea of getting filthy. Asher, on the other had, strpped down to his skivvies and dove in. He was a mess, but he had a blast. I had to hose him down at the end of the day!

Makes me think of the book Lord of the Flies!

Painted Toes

Josey got her first mini-pedicure on Mother's Day. I painted her toenails a pretty pink. She was so proud. She had to immediately show them off to her daddy. Of course, he oooed and aahhed just like he was supposed to.

She Had A Total Girl Moment

Several weeks ago, Josey and I were walking through Target. I went through the toddler clothing section to see if I could find her some T-Shirts. I saw this adorable tank top. I grabbed it off the rack and held it up for Josey to see. When she saw it, her eyes got really big, she smiled, and then she nodded her head as if to say, "Oh yeah. That's the one." It was such a girl thing to do. I loved it!! Of course that suckered me. I promptly put it in the cart and bought it for her.

Maybe He's Secretly European

So, about a year ago, Asher found this bathing suit in a bag of hand-me-downs from my brother. They are actually bikini bottoms that belonged to my niece, but Asher decided they would be the perfect swim trunks for him. The funny thing is that they totally fit him, in more ways than one! He puts them on during the most random times. This time, for example, he put them on while playing with his boxing gloves and punching bag. I crack up every time I see him in these.

My Mom Got Baptized

On May 2, my mom participated in the baptism ceremony at our church. It was a really nice moment to be a part of. It has been amazing to watch my mom's faith grow through the years.

Teacher of the Year

I work with a group of amazing people. The staff at my school has been together now for about 10 years. I like to joke that we are one big disfunctional family. There's disagreement, bickering, and complaining. But, we all have each other's backs, and when it's really important, we stick togther and we're there for one another. My colleagues are very seasoned, talented teachers. That's why I was extremely humbled and homored when they voted me as Live Oak's Teacher of the Year. The presentation of awards was at the board meeting on May 5. Korey skipped class so he could be there. It was a very nice evening. My principal also came to offer his encouragement and support. He was pretty hilarious actually. He was running around like a proud papa taking pictures!!
